Better off buying IL2:1946 and mod it up.
No, the modders have not gotten ahold of CLoD, and never will maybe. It still full of bugs, and support is getting dropped. Also, communication about the future of CLoD is pretty much silent.
Want a real combat sim, with real support, mods, and active mature community? Pick up DCS. Want to stay with WWII era? Your only hope is IL2 with mods (such as HSFX).
This product, as it is now, and has been since release, is a waste.
