His guilt is far from certain and until he is tried and found guilty he is innocent. From what I know a conviction is not likely but the spectre of extradition to the USA would be enough to scare anyone into holing up in an embassy.

Aside from that, an arrest warrant is not a charge in itself. The Swedes want to question him but I don't think they've charged him with rape yet. It's the threat of extradition that is the problem. I doubt it was pressure from the Swedes that caused the UK government to threaten invading the Ecuadoran embassy.
