This was a few too many! Probably somewhere between 50-60 would have been optimal as 36 bombers was still running @ 30+FPS!
It was still fun to do and to watch though! I wasnt flying, I was just on Autopilot so I could flick around the views.
I tried the latest beta but the last official patch has all the effects still turned on which is more fun to watch!
I hope in the future the dev team work out how to split AI across multiple cores/threads as I can see AI are currently only using 1 core... flat out at about 90% mind you, while the other cores were 5-20%.. Even if its just enemy AI on one core and Allies on another!
It'll be finished uploading soon.

You bring up big point. Better utilisation of todays and future hardware. You've got enough hardware to guide an unmanned mission to mars. The program uses less than 20% of it. At this pace it'll take another 10 years for the game to run smooth with all the potential bells and whistles enabled.
I run a I5-2500K @4.3ghz and SLI gtx 680 and the program runs pretty smooth at high settings on a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor. I'm also using a surround setup and could really use the multicore/sli optimisation. The hardware's here, lets use it.
