A 40mm slug punching into a plane would for SURE get your attention, even it would not explode. And the change in aerodynamics of a plane due the damage will be felt in a way or another too. But as we have to have a compromise between playability and realism all we have is a limited presentation of damage and it's results. But they should give somewhat realistic feedback to the pilot..as it does in most cases in CoD. So not all is bugged
