Ivy Bridge is Cold Turkey IMHO, you are better off with Sandy Bridge from what I've seen of the way Ivy's heat up as the clocks go up, despite their die size.

I've been watching this for a while and have decided for Intel 2011 and pushed the boat out for Intel i7-E 3960X six core on an Asus X79 Rampage Extreme IV ... my new GTX 680 will like its PCI-e 3.0 bandwidth too.

The most expensive processor I've ever bought, but you only live once.
