In the views list or one of the other FMB drop down lists there is a choice to display roads. You also need to make sure you have in your Video display options to display roads also.
With the above.. If you have layed a spline track then looking at the missin it has not accepted it.
My advice is to start over. You know if the track is layed correct cause in the mission folder there will be a spline road for the track. and it will let you save. When you lay a spline you can drag the points along it to make a curve.
