The simulator will not be worse because of the ground stuff become driveable. This is an extra feature. If you don't like it, it's ok, but who's care? Then you don't use it, and done. Why do you think that things can not be developed simultaneously? The core programming and these are two separate part of the game, the guy (guys) who programmed the memory leak problem, still working on their own tasks...
