After a bit more dabbling, it turns out that when i have hamachi running, it will connect to most games.. makes no sense to me as hamachi should only affect LAN play.
There could be a potential link in that the problem started occuring after i first used hamachi to play a LAN game with a friend.
Anyone else with a similar problem take this into account, or alternately anybody who could explain this weird circumstance could you please let me know.
