I have over the years purchased all three consoles (360, Wii, PS3). It doesn't really matter to me what platform it is I am playing on, what matters is if the games are appealing to me.
Honestly I have to say my pc is the platform with the most appealing content (CoD, Total War series, Company of Heroes and such).
The Wii at this point is a candidate for a trade in at my local game store.
The PS3 is mainly used by my son.
The 360 I purchased only very few titles for recently (LA Noir, Skyrim, FIFA series). The most use I get out of the 360 is streaming movies.
I btw bought Skyrim for the pc as well and I have to say it looks extremely better on pc. Todays upper middle class to high end pcs are at the very least a full generation ahead of consoles, which have already exeeded their traditional lifespan of 5 years before the next generation should come out.
But in this economy it seems at least Microsoft and Sony are going to try and get another 2 or 3 years out of the current generation. Nintendo's Wii was never a next generation console, so it seems they have plans to come out with something new.
