This is a known phenomenon. I'll try and explain.
What's happening is the the part of your brain that sees motion is less interested in colour than in luminence (or brightness). It basically means that in certain circumstances your motion-detecting visual system dosn't percieve some coulours as readily as others and they can appear to lag behind if movement is introduced.
There's an optical illusion that uses this efect with 3 different coloured dots, (pastel blue, pastel yellow and pastel purple on a white background) if you shake your head the yellow dot appears to lag behind the other 2, as a consequence, your depth perception sees this as the object being further away than the other 2 because it's the only way to make 'sense' of what it's seeing.
