Let me understand you. Guns are allowed (with certain restrictions and licensing etc) but the fact that other weapons are not allowed is evidence that the peoples of the UK are being deprived of their common sense? Or is it that the lack of common sense has led to us being deprived of the right to bear whatever arms we want?
I presume that either option is evidence that citiznes of the UK have not exercised their own judgment or their right to vote? Please explain, without references to "sheep" etc as that is just insulting.

The following link might hold the truth about driving on the left, though I don't understand why that is seen as evidence of Empire unorthodoxy. Explain please.

There is a thing called the "Blitz spirit" that occurs quite often. After the riots in fact. It means that we help each other in times of need. I'm not really sure when exactly we need to be rescued.
My own view about living in denial is we deny that we help others too much rather than helping our own. We're probably going to have to pay a lot to bail out the Eurozone.

Do you know the lottery numbers too?
What is amazing is the style of disagreement. Those in the UK are saying "We don't want guns but if you want them in your country/culture that's fine". Those not of this country (or culture in Stern's case) are saying "Without guns you are wusses, your free will has been eroded and you're all going to pay for it."
Is there any chance of leaving it at that?
