I'm not sure I understand the question?
Thats the M31 Andromada galaxy for sure (a great picture) I guess many of those stars are in our own Milky Way Galaxy and we are looking through them to M31.
I'm a bit of a casual astronomer and one of the first wow moments was when I found this galaxy on my telescope.
I guess most folk know that this galaxy is part of our local group that is not moving away from us, its close enough (still about 2.5 million light years away) for our mutual gravity to have an effect, eventually that galaxy and our own will merge, we wont be around and probably not our Earth or solar system, but what a sight it would be as it got close.
