Vsync works the same both before and after on my system, but my card can pump out way more than my monitor can handle, so I expected that. My problems are normally tearing while panning with TrackIR. Haven't run a BlackForest track yet though, I'll wait til tomorrow to do that.

If you enable Vsync you shouldn't have tearings. Be sure to enable it from the game and disable from the videocard control panel (what do you have? ATI or Nvidia?)
