Dude, i think you might be on to something here.
I gave it a try myself, with the old desktop icon, and launching from the game itself and trying out online. i watched the memory in the task manager, with the old icon, would work with 1,400,000k+ of memory when entering into the server, crashing, locking up, C++ errors, then starting from the launcher.exe in the cliffs folder it was running at around 900,000k memory usage, hasnt crashed on entry into the server, no lockup, no errors. Ill try it for a bit longer but looks to be helping me
