Thanks Trumper! That's one of my favourite bits of archive (and I went to school in both Streatham and Croydon, so I know some of them there tracks!).
But distances are always relative, aren't they. One of the last bits of FS2004/X I did regularly (before I recovered all that disc space for shooting things down) was Shoreham to Biggin or London City in my Cessna or my lovely little Dornier, and I'd always be surprised when it took 20 or 25 minutes. I mean, where are the roadworks? The cones? The M25? Come to think of it, I never did it in my FS2004 F4. That one might have rivalled the London to Brighton.
