When I had the old Z650, on the way home from work one day, the main wiring loom burst into flames under the tank.

I jumped off the bike, put my visor down and batted the flames out with my hands (with gloves on of course). After the fire had gone out, I thumbed the starter and rode the thing home about 15 miles, with every wire bare copper.

Although that was nothing to taking a race tuned X7 around Three Sisters go-kart track near Wigan, and at the first bend discovering the front brake had lost all its fluid.

My, that stung a bit.
