Turn them off.
I turned them off around the time of the last patch because I didn't like them. No MP sound bug since then. I have turned them back on at 'VeryLow' and still no sound bug.
It's a tiny price to pay to be able to play it until they change the trees (add your vote for it here

Numbers were up on the Syndicate server last night, presumably the US market jumping in
