This may read like a troll post, but I'm very serious.
A couple weeks ago I turned off the framerate display, so I wouldn't be glancing at it and worrying every five seconds. Immediately, the game became 5x more fun to play. I stopped the obsessive fiddling with graphics options and started flying the airplanes more.
