I agree, it would scare people off enough to avoid flying through trees. Maybe it would also simulate the possibility that the tree gives way, and not the aircraft wing. (If you hit a tree that does NOT have a collision box, one can imagine the tree got cut in half instead of the wing and still keep a "plausible" outcome to the collision. Of course the tree would have to be really thin IRL to break instead of the wing
