Thanks SEE, these steps got FRAPS working again in-game for me.
I noticed though that it resulted in 'Full-Screen' being switched to 'OFF' in the game's video menu, with a resolution of 1024x768 also being selected. Even though the game still actually ran in a full-screen mode at a higher than 1024x768 resolution.
If, however, I then selected 'Okay' to those video settings, I'd then have to restart the game to apply them. And if I did so, the game would restart in Windowed mode @1024x768.
That suggests to me, when one selects ChangeScreenRes=0 but
doesn't re-apply it in-game, the game is actually being played in a 'Psuedo' full-screen mode, and FRAPS, being set to 'Monitor Aero desktop' can still track it as if it's the desktop itself. But that's all just guesswork on my part.
What I also found though, was that I could set the 'Full-Screen' mode to 'Psuedo' in-game, and your fix would still apply. However, upon exiting the game, the ChangeScreeRes setting in my config file had been changed to 'ChangeScreenRes=2'.
So, I'd actually recommend using 'ChangeScreenRes=2' (Psuedo Full Screen), as it allows you to change and apply other settings in the game's 'Video' settings menu if you want to, without the game then reverting to Windowed mode.
