What's not 'to get'?
Personally, I bought it, tried it, and moved onto better things - I suspect that's what most do.

You're probably right about 0.01% of the general public being willing to take it on, many of whom aren't even interested in flight sims. There's probably a reasonable if small % of those that are flight simmers willing to stick with it and perhaps 50% of the dedicated IL-2/Maddox camp that are if these forums are anything to go by (although I stand to be corrected looking at the number of players in Steam servers).
The various "will I"/"won't I" camps are all valid. You just take your pick.
1. "I like flight sims, here's a new one (CoD), I'll try it, it's crap out of the box, still weak in significant areas after the Steam patches, ditch it." (and perhaps never know what it
might become except by word of mouth).
2. "Its what we've been waiting for, it's not right yet by a long way and I'll put it aside and watch the forums until its better.
3. "Its what we've been waiting for, it's not right yet by a long way but we've seen something like this before (if not as bad) and I'll crack on with it until it's fixed." (and play for many frustrating weeks as the patches leak out).
Fortunately there are enough of type 3 to keep feedback alive until better days. Those that have ditched it or set it aside are perfectly entitled to their choice but they will have the type 3's to thank for helping get it right sooner because it would take MG many months more on their own (we can only put its out-of-the-box condition down to lack of testing resources - which many players have now joined)
As for whinge/no-whinge, where would CoD be if these forums were deathly silent?
No-one is saying it's up to snuff yet. It 'runs' for many people who can dogfight and bomb in it and its great when you do but too many people can't run it (my old min spec XP PC won't even start it) and many features are still off the mark or are simply not working yet.
