Well, cars are extremely simple compared to complex software that has to work on a zillion hardware configurations... Even though modern fuel injection systems etc are rather advanced, the basic combustion engine works like it did during the war
The same goes for transmission etc. I don't think you would have to spend many hours to teach a good WWII era mechanic to service my bleeding edge high tech Audi...
