Ambisonc, is simply an alternative method for encoding surround sound using multiple channels, and offers advantages in systems where sound comes from every direction and recreates a far more accurate soundstage, as opposed to a definitive sound stage directly in front of the listener.
However, one point for those choosing Ambisonc, it uses cpu cycles to decode without dedicated Ambisonc hardware, and will not make use of any other sound hardware for decoding, this will cause a hit to fps in systems where the cpu may be the limiting factor.
