That is, they were going to remove the filter soon anyway, and they still will remove it, but in the short term we will have the option to switch it off. As i understood it re-coding the features that might cause an epileptic seizure was a much more laborious way to do it INSTEAD of the filter.
Thats why they put the filter in in the first place, re-coding would have taken to much time.
So the filter is there and one can turn it on and off. No need to re-code anything.
