I can't just move my steam folder to the SSD even though it's a 160GB version my steam folder is simply too large.

I was thinking about disconnecting my data drive, install steam on the SSD but I'm not sure this will work...

If this doesn't work there is a tool available that allows you to store a game that you don't want to play in a certain drive freeing up space. Then if you want to play the game you stored again you can transfer if back to the SSD.

If I were to leave steam on my D drive and shell link clod would I get the benefits of the SSD or would I require steam to be installed on the SSD?
