Not really. You could pre-order it which gave you access to the beta, but only
after you paid. And the beta still didn't give you a clear picture about the final release (looks like the final version was in fact a big improvement beyond the last beta). There was no demo and there still is none.
Making proper demos takes time and at the moment it's probably better spent on the game itself.
