Got the early KWK 88 numbers wrong, sorry Igo
The 88mm penetrated ALL allied tanks, both western and eastern makes. The Germans had very good optics on their tanks, which made a difference especially in East. IMO Panther was the best tank of WW2 as it had high power main gun and wide tracks, sloped armor and good speed.
About a 500kg bomb exploding next to a tank. The blast alone would tip the tank over or damage it and shock of the blast could kill the crew or severely hurt them making the tank useless. Well, IL-2 is old and SoW for sure has a better DM for gound units
