mechanic_head2.dds is for another SMF. Perhaps you'll get something like this:

2. Find 'SDVS' bytes
3. Select bytes from 'SDVS' to the end of file
4. Save selected bytes as test.shadvs

Yes, you should convert only
part of SMF, not the whole file.
