IIRC it was 8 degrees, but could indeed have been 10 or 15



it was not for Seafires, it was for Spitfires that were being flown off aircraft carriers to reinforce malta

they needed the flaps to cope with the take offs carrying the 90 gallon slipper tanks...that much tankage was required so the carrier and support vessels would not get too close to the danger around Malta
