Certainly!
Many pilots still call them gliders. I just prefer the tearm "sailplane" because it's more descriptive of what it actually does, sort of like a sailboat only in 3 dimensions.
This is a pic of the one I usually fly. I know she aint much to look at but she's very light, handles well and I LOVE the open cockpit
