in my childhood ive built hundreds of airfix kits we used to have a local model shop that sold hundreds you also used to be able to buy then in your local newsagents too
i got the model bug from my uncle i used to spend a lot of time with my uncle and cousin as my father was away on deployment for long periods of time and my uncle still has lots of models me and my cousin made when we were kids plus the hundreds he built himself
i can prob say i got the aircraft bug from him too as he used to take me and my cousin to lots of airshows i have very fond memories of my uncle he was like a second father figure to me and i still visit him often to catch up on things
