FINALLY! Someone with some sense. You, sir, either work in the games industry or are a very astute observer of how it works. I just read the massive "rant at the developers" thread and wanted to post something similar in there. But what's the point?
It would just get lost in all the ignorant bile spewed in the wrong direction. I understand people have a right to be angry, although I do think it a bit over the top in some cases. I, myself, have really enjoyed this game since it was released.
If you want to get angry at a badly developed and buggy game, go and buy Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Then complete the campaign and have the game completely fail to recognise that and not give you the trophy for it, as happened to me. And then try to go online with it... (And if you do, go to the official forum and vote for RawKryptonite's video as it's the best one that I've seen so far

).
The best course of action, as far as I can see it, for the community is to a) continue to play the game so that 505 Games feels there's a point to continuing support for it and b) harass 505 Games as they are responsible for withholding fixes/content.
There is absolutely no point spewing wrath at 1C Publishing or Gaijin. In fact Gaijin should be applauded for not only producing a game that is fantastic out the box and has a lot less problems than other titles, but also for working
off their own funds on the patch to not only fix some of the issues that have come to light but also improve the title in response to community feedback.
If you work on the assumption that Gaijin have had 10 people working on the patch for 2 months at an average salary of £30k/pa, then that is £50,000 it has cost them to produce the patch, for which they will never see a penny. That is probably a
conservative estimate, that Gaijin have incurred on
our behalf. If you think we're frustrated at the lack of release, how do you think they feel, having spent that kind of money on it to then see it collecting dust at 505?
And before you say about all the money they made from the game initially, you're wrong. They will have been paid a flat fee (possibly with royalties, but that will be minimal at best) to make the game. All the returns from sales (and admittedly, the cost of distribution and marketing) go to the publisher. Not Gaijin.
So by all means, be angry and vent that anger and frustration. But do it in the right direction and at the right people.
EDIT: P.S lol at these...
