I do find it easy to sneak in onto unprotected B-17s in strike missions with a Bf-110. Occasionally Foz1983, if he's on the opposing side and not busy shooting down somebody else, might spot me, but usually I'm free to blast away for quite a few minutes before a fighter shows up to have a go spoiling my fun.
The Bf-110 is the best bet for causing impressive amounts of damage and destruction to B-17s though the speed is an issue, being 40 MPH slower in level flight than the actual real aircraft with WEP.
The rate of climb is screwed up as well, bearing in mind that the Bf-110 C4's ability to outclimb both Spitfire, Hurricane and Bf-109 E3 is more than well documented.
It feels like I'm flying the Bf-110 C10 twin 30mm. FlaK version (belly pack mounted) than the C4, as the lack of performance seems about right.
