New IL2 user via console and mesmerized!!

I went to Gamestop and got the game on a whim...only two copies in the store and the cover looked cool...Four days later, zipped right thru the arcade version campaign and promptly went out and dropped the fifty bucks on the Sailtek AV8R-2 and am now struggling to just keep the damn thing in the air on Realistic mode...I'm hooked..

Great game you have here:grin:

Great website you have here.

The cockpit view and then looking out over a wing at the ground below can really be moving.. ...I never thought this game would be like this..lol

I know it was popular on the pc but this on the xbox is really cool. With the help of a 47" LCD and a stereo theatre sound, it really can't get any better..

And to think that it's the simulation of flight that I'm enjoying here, (and struggling to learn),..The whole "dogfight thing" is something waay down the road for me..lol.. I'm having too much fun just flying..

Yeah I'm a new convert as well and I adore this game.

It's the only flying game I've ever played that actually comes close to the real sensation of flying. It really feels like you're actually moving through air, as opposed to just empty 3D space. Plus the landscapes are so beautiful that it really captures what's so magical about flight.

if you are using an aviator stick on anything other than arcade remember to turn the sensitivity down (and back up for arcade!!)...

always pleased to hear converts enjoying the game...maybe see you online;)

You should move on to PC simming if you're getting into it, it's up a notch from console gaming.
It's very immersive when using TrackIR, a large screen and force feedback.
