Ps3 version suffers from severe lag offline??

Hello All! Im new to this forum and the IL-sims as well. I really like flyinggames/sims but I've never tried any of the IL-games for PC. (Im only on console) Just picked up my copy of BoP today and played a few tutorials and got quite dissapointed due to that the game seems to suffer from severe lag.

If I bank in some direction it pauses for a quarter of a sec, and also when hitting enemies or the ballons in the tutorial. Im only playing 'single player' and not 'online'

I've played the demo for some time but it doesn't even come close to the high level of lag as the full game. The demo had a lot of screen tearing but it seems like they have managed to enhance the screen tearing for the final product but not the lag-issue.

Im in Sweden using a Japanese Ps3 (Fw3.00) and a T.Master Hotas
My screen is a LCD Sony KDL46X3500

I've also tried to change the output resolution from the ps3 (i.e 1080i & 720p) but it doesn't make any difference.

Has anyone of you ps3 owners -who luckily managed to get hold of your copy today- experienced the same??

Hope for some answers.

I have not. But will get back to you if it does?

No problems here. I wonder if you installed an after market HDD into your PS3?

It might be framerate, I'm on 360 but I get that problem a little bit on some games, BoP included. I've only noticed it during the tutorials once or twice though, after that I've been clear for the rest of the tutorials and the campaign, never saw it again.

If it's possible on ps3, installing to your HD might help. Also check if there is a setting in the game options to lower the framerate setting on the game.

That's all the advice I can give, someone else might know more than me.

Most likely i'll get my ps3 copy tomorrow..will come back to this after a thorough playthrough....here's hoping it's some other issue and not the game..(i don't mean that in a bad way ofcourse,it would suck if it is as bad as you say)

No I haven't installed any HDD on my ps3. It's the original 60gig HDD. It's a japanese ps3 though but that shouldn't make any difference.

When you start the game for the first time it installs on the HDD automatically. I dont know how much information it needs from the disc during gameplay, but as the demo only uses the HDD it could be some side-effect when both the disc and HDD is involved together, that are causing these slightly pauses.

It could also have to do with the framerate as you mentioned mattd27 but I haven't found any option in the game that are letting you change this.

I will examine this more closely later today.

Bye for now.... / IKA

Im using an HDMI connection w 1080p resolution so the Ntsc-Pal output would not be an issue in this case.

i have noticed a couple of slight freezes during a couple of missions, every now and then everything stops for a fraction of a second, certainly not what i would call severe lag though.
