One of my best friends whom I have played online with for more than a decade uses the AV8R to great effect on the 360. I have both the Ace Edge and AV8R and all I could really say is that it's a matter of preference. AV8R isn't hard to use, it's just a light stick. Some people prefer that, though. It's like one of the differences between flying a Cessna 172 and a Cessna 182 (don't f'in go off on that, we're only talking controllability people). The 172 has light controls that are easy to move. The tradeoff is that it can be pretty squirrely in the wind and it responds to every little thing. Some pilots like that, some don't. I fly a 182, not only for all the extra power, but also having much heavier controls leads to greater stability. It takes more effort to get it to do something, but it will do it quite well every time. You just have to decide if you want to fly all twitchy like, which could actually help some in a combat scenario, most fighters are inherently unstable, or if you want a steadier gun platform that will get on target and stay on target. Let me put that a different way: You can either go for winning your fights by rapid maneuvering and snap shooting, or you can win your fights by taking longer to work into position and then creating a lead wall for them to fly into. It's what you prefer vs. your capabilities. Some people can't pull off the jerky maneuvers and react fast enough to make a kill shot like that. Some can and just prefer the walls of lead.
