Just to make myself clear, when you cut the grey (ground wire) at its center strip each end (where you cut) & then twist them back together so you have a base to twist the ground wire from the buttons to.

BTW I used what they call soft buttons (the square ones) for zoom & trim/target cam, because they are concave & comfortable to hold down with the knuckle of my thumb while still working the throttle.
