Few questions

Just got the demo and am loving it, but just have a few questions about the game in general.

1. Is there a way to mark a target in Simulator mode? I know there are ways to see where your target is (IE the map, using your eyeballs even though they are small, and gun fire), but just was wondering if there is a way to 'mark' a target.

2. I am not familiar with 'trim' and how it's used. Could someone please explain that to me.

3. I would expect 'combat' mode flaps give you more lift in lower speed situations. Am I correct?

4. Why is the Mustang so difficult to control in the Ardennes mission? The Spitfire seems much easier to handle before stalling, but the mustang is stall crazy. Is there a specific speed at which to set to get the optimum turn?

That's about it for now.

Nope, in simulation mode there is no way to mark a target. It's a real simulation in that and many other regards. :)

The other questions I can't answer but I'm sure others have advice for you.

And welcome to the forum!

1. no there is not , simulation mod is for the hardest of the core
realistic is a great option if you want the flight characteristics but still need targeting and stuff

2. trim evidently makes your airplane level in the game. but from what i know from rc planes is that trimming is correcting a misaligned flap or something so the airplane doesnt turn by itself

3. combat flaps evidently make you turn better but they eat up airspeed

4. dont use too much stick

I got a quetion, two actually...
1. Will we get to bomb in Multi-Player?
2. If so, can we fly the Avro Lancaster.

1. Yeah, in the Ground Strike mode. Two teams, with bombers and escorts each, trying to blow up other squads targets.

2. Not sure yet, that would be badass though. I call tail gunner

While I would love to see the Lancaster, there are a couple of reasons why I doubt it will be in the game, at least at launch.

The Lanc would be a bit overpowered compared to the He111, and besides, I haven't seen a single plane that wasn't in the older Il2 so far, possibly because of the way they are using existing flight models from the PC series. Maybe they don't want to or don't have the time to create new ones.

I also really want to understand how to properly use Trim in this game.

Trim helps keep the plane "stable" in flight. You may notice that when your plane speeds up the nose starts to rise even when you want it to point at the horizon. When your speed falls the nose will point towards the ground and you don't want that either. Trim sorts this out by making minor adjustments to the planes flight characteristics. Elevator trim will keep the nose centered on the horizon for straight and level flight. You have to adjust trim constantly. A plane that is trimmed is faster and easier to aim with. IL2 on the PC alsos has rudder trim and aileron trim...propitch...fuel mixture...supercharger stages, etc,etc basically more stuff to tinker with.

So when i fly straight i just have to press "a"?

Controls

Is there any way to change the controls, in particular have the picth and roll on the right stick and the yaw on the left stick with the speed?

I find that alot easier when using the controller, If it's not in the demo then is it in the full game? Also will the full game have customizable difficulty like the PC versions?
