get black screen when launching demo

I just downloaded the demo and everytime I launch it I get a black screen and have to press Esc to exit it. Here are my specs:
AMD phenom quad core 9850 2.50 Ghz
6 gigs of ram
Geforce 9800GT 512mb with latest driver 186.18
windows vista 64bit SP2

it's tell me the currently installed version of the driver is newer then what i am trying to install, i'll send the repot
