I wonder whether the appearance of chests (on the adventure map or battle arena) has anything to do with what you get from them.

For example, if I see two chests on the battlefield, one dark green and one wooden, which one should I open first?

Which kind of chest might give an equipment?

The chests on the battle arena are filled just before the fight, and there is no difference in the type of the chest.
The % of appearing item, gold ane etc is following:
Gold - 74%
Random scrolls - 16%
Runes - 5%
Crystals - 4%
Item - 1%

I can see 6 chests grouped together in the Russian Fan manual, so at least I know they are equivalent. :) There is another group of 5... probably for the adventure mode (still, equivalent). The chest with the fancy golden handle stands alone - maybe they are better than the rest?

I got the impression that different chests should mean different things from the tutorial. The quest item was contained in a yellow chests and all the others are blue chests. Maybe they aren't different anymore.
