CoD constantly freezes
 

Every time I run CoD, after a few minutes, it freezes. the image stayes on the screen but is immobile. It used to run just fine so I don't know why the sudden change.

system info:
Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz cores, Hyperclocked to 4.7GHz
8GB DDR3-1600MHz Quad Channel Memory
2048mb eVGA NVIDIA GTX670 GDDR5 video card
driver 314.07
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit w/ SP1

same here...a couple of days ago I get my launcher crashing after a few minutes...I have not installed anything of windows so I dont know whats going on??? The only thing I´ve installed is the new Tomb raider, now I cant play CoD :( ...will see if I have that update and hope that to be the reason because I have tried everything (reinstall Net 4, reinstall DX, deleting shaders directory, etc...) with no results...:(

Look in Windows Control Panel > Programs and Resources > Show Windows Update (or something - my Windows is not in English) and in the list look for:

Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2670838 ) - Do a Google search for KB2670838 issues/troubles.

If this Update are installed, you can not use CloD with overlay program like SweetFX, FlightFX... Without these overlay program installed and DirectX updated per instructions CloD should by work fine (work for me).

Or uninstall this Update (KB2670838 ) - you can install then again if desire - and test.

Ok, thanks mate!! I´ve seen I have this update, yes...but as you said I tried reinstalling DX with no success...I will try uninstalling the update...will report here after a while ok??...bye!!

Ok!! all fine!!! after uninstalling that windows update crashing problems have been solved for me!!!:grin:...thanks Sokol!!!

Thanks, Soko. Had the same problem, just finished flying 2+hrs. offline no problems. Pryor to uninstalling the windows update I would not beable to fly for more than a half in hour before the "freez and lock up"

I'm using CoD with JoyToKey
I wonder if that KB2670838 is my problem
it would have to be something like a Windows update messing things up, it was working just fine before

I Use CloD and JoyToKey.

I have KB2670838 (+ .NET repair + DXSETUP) installed.

CloD work fine, but...

I can not use SweetFX or FlightFX. In this case, freezes.

This KB2670838 induce trouble with programs that use overlay, like SweetFX, Fraps, TS Notifier...

JoyToKey dont use overlay, just mouse emulation
