Disabling mouse look in cockpit view

Hey there

Just a quick question, to which I think the answer is "you can't" - can you disable the mouse look in cockpit view, like you can in CloD by presing F10, so that if one accidentally knocks the mouse (and you don't have the mini-map up) the mouse doesn't change the view, and if you can - how?

Many thanks.

Do you not want any mouse input in IL2?

If so, changing the mouse setting to 0 in conf.ini would do it.

That make it very frustrating to use the sim, however.

Nope I just want it so that if I knock the mouse accidentally and I don't have the mini-map up the view doesn't pan around the cockpit.

... well, i have trackIR 5 and no mouse input in cockpit except with map pad active ( vanilla 4.11 game) so maybe enabling it and fiddling with settings would do the trick for you .

conf.ini:

[rts]

trackIRUse=1

That TrackIR parameter is already set to 1. Tried setting it to 0 but that did nothing.

I don't have TrackIR though.

Thanks all the same though.

I'm guessing that I was correct in the first place, you can't disable the mouse so that it doesn't pan the cockpit view unless you have the mini-map open (or are running something like TrackIR which I don't have).

In CloD when you press F10 you either have the mouse acting as it does in IL2 1946, or it makes the cockpit clickable with the mouse and moving the mouse doesn't pan the cockpit view.

Just a shame that CloD is no where near as good a single player experience as IL2 1946.

What stick do you have and what is your viewing solution? Do you have a return to center button set?

Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X.

Not sure what you mean by viewing solution?

And no I don't have a return to center button set as far as I'm aware.

Its very very important to have a return to center button. You can do what mess you want with the mouse or hat switch, in a quick snap of a joystick button, the view is centered. If views return automatically to center as you realease hat switch from the joy, than press F9 (default key) and turn that of, in my opinion is better, and use it with the other key ( you have to map the return to center key on the joy)
I sometimes put a black electrical tape on the bottom of the optical mouse, it results fine, and when i want to use the menus, i take it of. ( you can use a post-it or something) and when in game i "glue" it again.

Aha! I found a solution to this. I bought a Playstation 2 EyeToy from Ebay for <£5, and then installed factracknoir.

Works a charm, no mouse disturbing cockpit view if I accidentally knock it and now I also have the benefit of TrackIR type head tracking.
