Runes after level 50.
1) When I level up after level 50, I am getting 5 runes total. (3 Might, 2 spirit and at level 51 => 52 I got 3 spirit and 2 might)
Before it was a random number around 12-15 runes, and now I am level 52 and last 2 levels, I only received 5 runes each. And some times I get more Spirit runes then Might runes. This does not make sense to me. Its probably designed so you can not max all trees. But if I had known ahead of time, I would completely max out Warrior Tree before spending Might Runes in Scald or Soothsayer. 2) Other thing that made no sense, inability to distant travel from Arlania or Verlon Wasteland. If you jumped into a Ship and then traveled to Greenwort, then this ship becomes bugged. You have to purchase new 5k gold ship from guy on the beach in order to get to other islands. When you travel back to Greenwort, you have to leave that ship parked at the beach. If you take it to Arlania or Verlon then ship becomes bugged again. 3) Trapper Medal for Warrior needs fixing. I can wait until Enemy troop is very low on health and then cast Trap to get achievement. But do not see it as a practical tool for use in Combat, I have far better spells to cast to finish off enemy. I think Idea of trap is to slow down enemy, reducing its action points, but not Killing them, unless enemy is very very weak to begin with. 4) Valhallas Messanger Medal. I am level 52 about to get past Dwarf mines and I am currently at 16/20 to get level II. Unless there are more Viking armies, later in the game. I think I am 2/3 into the game. This is poorly designed Medal. You get one increase for every Viking Army you battle. compared to all other Medals (besides Trapper), this one makes no sense. |

I wouldn't max out entire trees though. Just be very selective in what you absolutely need because I don't know if you really could fully max. Supposedly there is a repeatable battle somewhere, (I think I found him, but couldn't trigger him) but I'd rather rely on my frugal Armored Princess instincts. Hmmm not sure if they fixed the ship thing. Right now I can travel anywhere as long as my ship is in Greenwort. That's all. Trapper medal is really designed for Soothsayer/Mage as it is a LOT easier ot max it. There are a LOT of units that let you push enemies into traps to build up for it. (Ice Dragon, Cyclops, Archmage, Green Dragon, to name a few). Also, if you have a very high level Viking Circle Rage attack, it has a high pushback too. You just have to do some quick math in your head plus the estimated damage. The idea of jacking up the trap skill at first is to raise damage and allow for more of them on the field. I think we all agree that a trap is more useful in not killing enemies but in disabling, however to earn that juicy right requires a bit of discipline in luring enemies into traps for a kill (to make it a bit challenging to get such a bonus). |

About bugged ships, I must have purchased 6-8 ships while traveling back and forth between islands, before I figured out this bug hehe. Also Elven Ship would disappear some times when parked at Merlassar. I liked design of the ship Sails, but then changed to normal ship after having to buy Elven ship like 4 times due to this bug as well. |
I`ll just give my 2 cents :
1) as previous rely said it, in Ap/Cw was same because in this game you dont have to max lvl all skills, but make decisions in RPG sense what to pick for upgrading and go in that direction 2) bugged ship, no solution other then hoping to get fix in next patch 3) as said above trapper medals is best for Mage due to his high intellect and with it high dmg for trap spell (i had max dmg around 20000dmg + poison effect with 84 intellect if remember correctly). Max lvl medal, lots of traps and with it you have free obstacles to keep enemy army from reaching your low leadership troops. For Warrior/Paladin not so much because they have bigger army and defeat enemy with it, not spells, but free trap is always useful. 4) you`ll lvl it later in game. |
i maxed trap medal with skald quite easy (on imposible). It's so easy to bait them with summons or low level units (draids -> thorns in my case). And you have a lot of tools to get enemy at low health: same sumons (thorns can make 1/2 stack of their size, and so on), different level rage skills, so you adjust their total life with it, and then bait. It gets easier after 2lv medal, because of +% trap damage.
