a reverse acelerator in case you fall asleep driving
the problem now is obvious you fall asleep and you keep pressing the acelerator
so the solution: a reverse acelerator you press with the TOP of your foot NOT THE BOTTOM |
A 'reverse accelerator' in a car normally calls itself 'brake'. Weird, isn't it?
|
Great idea, now I can use long drives to catch up on sleep.
|
there are some complex solutions to this problems like this:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-dr...ake-you-up.htm the acelerator in my idea is OVER the foot and you RAISE the foot to accelerate, on this way when you fall asleep you just stop acelerating |
Doesn't help, as you can fall asleep and keep pressing the throttle down.
|
You could also just stop and take a powernap.

Instead; An adjustment to your original idea: The accelerator works the same as it does today EXCEPT that the top part of the accelerator gives you maximum speed, and pressing all the way down gives the slowest speed. What could go wrong with that? :-) |
You try lifting your foot up against a pressure, within a short period of time you will be straining and cramping up muscles and tendons--daft idea.
Ok ,you fall asleep and stop accelerating ,i assume it must be locked into the steering somehow as well.;) |
What's to worry? You'll stop eventually.
