The one at the top takes five years or more. The second one is ready by dawn the next day. :cool:

Yes and was expected to fly at its limit while they are now restricted to reduce the wear and tear :(

The top image is quite interesting apparently it was found in a scrap yard in Australia :o, I knew I should have emigrated :x

Yeah you should have mate. I know of a Spitty sitting on the bottom of a lake. Crashed during training. Use to police in the area and it was well known. Unfortunately it can't be lifted. The local Aboriginal people won't allow it.

The bottom one looks like its being dismantled for spares - the prop is bent as if it belly landed and I doubt they'd strip everything including the wings just for a service.

Great pic though.

ps the top Spit looks like a 2-seater. Second only to a Merlin-engined Buchon on my all-time list of fugly aircraft.

Reality check - you're not an engineer you're an unemployed long-term engineering student.

I am an engineer if I saw an aircraft being maintained like that I would stop flying buy a bunker and listen to distant sound of aircraft smashing into the ground above me.

Your not an engineer, I don't know what you are but your definitely not an engineer.

About thirty years ago this man found a Mossie in his local aussie scrapyard and amongst other things built himself this;

I still can't decide whether what he did was sacrilege or an interesting variation on the V-twin theme.
