Hurricane Summer, pt. 1 - new video by me...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6OPX...ature=youtu.be
(Best seen in fullscreen and 1080p)

I'm back online in "Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover", flying on the ATAG server. This time I am trying the Hawker Hurricane which isn't nearly as popular as the Spitfire. And, true enough, it doesn't have the performance of the Spittie, but it is a nice steady gun platform, and if you catch a Messer in a low energy state you have a good chance to do him in!

Flying online in CoD is fantastic fun. I hope it shows in this video. The rest of the story of our intrepid Hurricane pilot will be told in "Hurricane Summer, pt. 2."

Yeah, there is a sound bug with Brit planes on the ground when they are at idle... I think.

Never had that bug myself, sounds more like you have a control that is constantly switching something to me.

Does the mouse pointer not annoy you? I always move it off screen for the sake of immersion.

I thought I was bad until I saw your video lol. I think you need to learn energy or whatever they call it rather then keep stalling out like that.

Freycinet,

After watching this, I'm reminded of the drug dealer who gives out free samples, so you get hooked. Now, I can't wait for your next installment (my next fix, as it were).

Great movie. Keep'em coming.

ps: about the stalls, try using flaps in those sharp turns.

As always - great fun! I have one question: It looks as if you are able to keep the "pip" more or less centered most of the time .It seems to jiggle around a lot less than mine with TrackIR5 in both Axis & Aliied planes.Do you have a specific keystroke command or am I just seeing you use the lean forward towards gunsight utility most of the time? With the Allied center line gunsights it is a bit easier aiming than off line German ones.I got spoiled with the old Il-2 keystroke of a constant centered 'pip".
I look forward to Part 2!

I only have that sound when other planes are near me on the ground, and only Brit planes. It comes when their engines start. So I'm pretty sure it is connected with that, but I'm intrigued by the fact that you've never heard it, and I'd really like to hear now if others have that sound as well! The cackle when other engines are running nearby...

I zoom in and out by holding down a button (on my joystick) and then moving the mouse forward and backwards, so the pointer has a tendency to show up all around my scrteen. You can actually see it go away when there is zooming going on.

I need the pointer for when I'm using the on-screen controls in the cockpit. I use the mouse for all non-essential controls that I don't use during combat... Sorry if it ruins the immersion, I see where you come from,, but haven't found a workaround... (Tho I seem to remember that you can have MSI Afterburner NOT capture the mouse, I should look into that..)
