Mission briefing in audio
 
Here's a BETA small script to allow mission builders to present the mission briefing as audio, (or play any mp3 file) to the pilot when they jump into their plane. :grin: Suggestions & improvements always welcome.

Should also work in single player, but I haven't tested it in SP mode.

Yes unfortunately. More work to do to track that players get one briefing only, or perhaps even get the briefing via the TAB-4 mission menu?

First post code updated. Briefing (mp3) plays once only, when player first spawns for a given army. Please test for other issues :)

Hi,

After a few tests in multiplayer, only the host can receive the audio message, is it possible to stream the audio file to the client connected on the server?

I would imagine that is very heavy on bandwidth and would cause issues.

I would suggest two options to try Salmo:

1. Audio held on other server elsewhere for streaming and client pointed to it
or
2. Downloadable file, pre downloaded from the host site and installed on the client. If it doesn't exist code that option in

I should have mentioned that this only works is single player mode not MP server mode. I'm still trying to figure out a way to network sounds, voices etc. 1st post code removed by author.
