Double standards on racism..
 

Now this is a very delicate and very hot topic gents, so please act accordingly.

This morning I was pointed to this:

I have two considerations to do on this:

1)Moore's racism is not the “white of their eyes” trauma of army fighters. He was in the RAF, and even if they didn’t have direct contact with the enemy, you will hear a lot of RAF veterans enormously respecting their former adversaries. One could object that his resentment is driven by the fact that his girlfriend was killed by a German bombing, but if so what does all the rest of his racism have to do with it? He’s an old man, and as you know as you advance with age you’re less scared (or simply don’t care) about the consequences of voicing your opinion. Despite all that he went through (and there are many who lost their loved ones/relatives etc. during the war, but didn’t necessarily develop such racist resentment), it doesn’t change the fact that he sounds like the sub-product of an old fashioned empire racist mentality of the worst kind.

2) A few months ago two women voiced their racist opinions whilst using the public service in London, someone made a video of them and put them on youtube. The thing went viral, the women was arrested and charged for their words.


I don't understand the logic behind publishing on Radio Times an article about a public figure voicing his delirious racist rant and deem it as acceptable and worth sharing on a printed magazine, whilst firmly condemning the words of those women. Am I missing something? :confused:

Patrick Moore is a bore where most of today's rights have simply passed him by. For example his views on women are appalling as well as his views on other subjects as you can see. He simply gets away with it because of his age.

regardless of what i feel on the issue, i think that this thread will go down hill (even further) very quickly, and isn't the best idea you've ever had.

I ain't touching this one with a ten foot barge pole. :D

I'm affraid you are missing something Stern, happens all over the world not just the UK, so there was no need to go down the 'sub-product of an old fashioned empire racist mentality of the worst kind.' because it's more or less showing your own prejudice againt the British.

It's part of the NWO agenda keeping people's fingers pointing at each others' minor acts, and off the real problems of our corporations running our governments. Why the lady got arrested, and not P. Moore, if I had to guess, his is just general talking, and not directly confrontational with an individual, while her's was ranting directly at people.

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but does England have a "1st amendment" like the U.S.? Is freedom of speech "protected?"
