N680GTX has just made my il2cod "flyable"
just my 2cents:
i have been using a 295GTX for the last 2-3 years, and today i have decided to upgrade and picked up an MSI N680GTX so, with the current version of il2cod and the 295GTX i was having an average of 7-15fps and annoying stutters with the following settings (see the screen below), flying or doing anything in the sim was just impossible and with lower settings it was just looking ugly: http://i.imgur.com/YEgjk.jpg now, with the N680GTX and the same settings as above, i am having an average of 19-38 FPS! and i just couldn't believe how nearly smoothly it was running, the performance improvement was really really MAJOR here! it became nearly stutterless and, now definitely PLAYABLE/FLYABLE... so far, i no longer need to wait for the new patch as i got my il2cod "fixed" somehow.. my other system specs are: i5 (oclocked to 4ghz), 8gb ram, win7 64bit |
Good to hear, you will be very impressed wit the next patch though. Maybe you could tune a the highs to very high.

Agree to OP here. Put in an 680GTX in my rig too yesterday. 2560x1500 with everything to high and pretty smooth gameplay. Now if the patch makes whats its said to be doing CloD will be my next spare time filler and i can hopeyfully finally wave goodbye to the well done but "biased to hell an back FM- game" ROF.

for a 500$ card with 2gb vram, i'd expect/hope it would run smooooooth and flawless in all circumstances (over city, with large plane formations and close formation flying, flying through hangars, and with dust/smoke) we need that gfx patch !! |
Hey highness, I noticed you had the model detail set to high, try original, its probably the last setting you want move down. You should notice the cockpits and planes are improved with little performance hit:)
Let us know if its better for you;) |
