CEM-difference between MP and SP?
 
hey guys.
after more than hundred hours of playing single player and probably about 20-30 hours in multiplayer mode, i have the impression that CEM works different in both modes.
while it really takes bad management in single player to overheat the engine, in multiplayer it happens quite fast.
for example when i go into steep climb, i first have to open both the oil and water radiator to not make the engine shake and overheat in multiplayer.

while instead in singleplayer mode, i can leave both radiators almost closed all the time during flight and fight, and the temperatures keep high but dont exceed the healthy values.
i dont have to focus anymore on them, and can leave my view on rpm prop pitch and the enemy.

in multiplayer its a different story and the temperature values of oil and water really have a meaning.

at least thats my impression, but im confident that there is a difference between both modes.
what is your impression guys?can you confirm my suspection?

I haven't flown that much, but yes, playing in MP with some friends I had to keep the radiators nearly full open all the time, wheres I also have the impression that flying in SP (which is most of the time ATM) I can leave them nearly closed...:confused:
And yes, I still haven't managed to damage my engine in SP, whereas it happened to me in MP.

yeah the first few times i played multiplayer i was really surprised, recognizing that my engine was suddenly dead and leaking oil, while having both radiators in the same position as i do in singleplayer.
if it is fact, that there is a difference, i really wonder why.
because its neither good for offliners, who want to have an immersive experience, but beeing left with a "simplified" engine management, nor for onliners who want to train their skills offline, and than beeing faced with a total different situation of handling the aircraft.

i have 200 hours which is a mix of online and offline and i didnt see any difference at least for the EMIL
I don't know about Spitfire though

Forgot to mention but I base my comment on the Spitfire and Hurricane, haven't flown the 109 online yet...

I haven't flown the spit or hurri that mutch but I fly the 109 offline and online with the same radiator settings.

Will have to jump and a spit and check this out :(

Online may have had different realism settings.

well my experience is with the emil only,which at least for me, seems to overheat much quicker with the same radiator settings online than offline.

Have you enabled temperature effects? Full real MP servers will enforce this, hence the difference.

Taking off in a spit or hurri with the radiator closed, after 30 seconds or less I get engine shake for a second and then the 'water radiator perforated' message. Same in MP.

yes i always play with full difficulty settings.
and i think after the last patch, i can fly offline with totally closed oil radiator for some time without having problems.will test how long it takes to damage the engine.will give feedback later or tomorrow
